De-couple a parent-child Trade Stand linkage

==How to de-couple a parent-child trade stand linkage==


Use this process if a parent-child relationship has been created in error between two contacts so that trade stand accounts are being posted against the wrong contact.

1.) Using contacts manager, find the “parent” contact.

2.) Open the contact record.

3.) Goto the Contact Type Tab.

4.) In the bottom right of the screen there is an Account Type box.

5.) The contact will be set to a parent.  There will be 1 or more child contacts listed.

6.) Click on the child record that you want to de-couple to highlight it and click “Remove Child”.

7.) If there are no more child records left, you will need to set account type as “Single” also.

8.) Next goto the accounts tab.

9.) Being careful not to remove any transactions which are required, remove any transactions for the trade stand in question by right 

10.) clicking on them and selecting “Delete Transaction”.

11.) Close the contact window.

12.) Goto the trade stand and re-post the accounts, which will now be set against the correct contact.

Done.
