Merging Duplicate Contact Records
ShowBiz allows you to merge duplicate contact records that have been created by mistake. This means that any memberships, entries and trade stands will be merged to one record and the other or other surplus records will be made obsolete.
In order to do this, do a search in contacts manager that brings back the duplicate records. Note that you may need to tick the “Obsolete” and “Show Permanently Archived” contacts boxes. So far example if you had two duplicate contact record for Mr Joseph Bloggs, you put My Joseph Bloggs into the contact manager search fields and click search.
Next, tick the records that you would like to merge. Make sure that the blue selection bar is over the record that you would like to keep. Everything will be merged to the record under the selection bar and all others will be removed.
Next, click the “Merge Duplicate Contacts” button, in the bottom left of the contacts manager screen. The contact records will then be merged to your selection.
